The “Path of Remembrance” project was started in 2024 by the ninth grade of the Gleichense grammar school in Ohrdruf. This is the year group that will finish their school career in 2027. At the time, it consisted of 63 pupils, all of whom were involved in this project. Each of these pupils sculpted one of the face-like reliefs, which were then used to erect around 30 stelae after the non-usable reliefs had been removed. These stelae were also made by the pupils themselves. This energetic work on their own works of art helped the pupils to take a closer look at the history of the Nazi era and opened up new perspectives.
